Abhinav Jain from SGU won the Men's Singles B division at the Osterfeld Autumn Tournament in Oberhausen. After a grueling 7-game marathon in the gymnasium of Gesamtschule Osterfeld (GSO), the top-seeded Düsseldorf player crowned himself champion undefeated.
Jain swept through the group stage without dropping a set, defeating Kevin Herrmann (21:6, 21:15), Sebastian Beysiegel (21:13, 21:4), and Julian Brunne (21:11, 21:6). He remained dominant in the round of 16 against Jakob Völp (21:16, 21:10) and in the quarterfinals against Worawit Tangamornchaipattana (21:9, 21:14).
After a hard-fought semifinal win over Fabian Strotmann (22:20, 21:11), the final brought the ultimate showdown: against Stephan Bruns, Jain dropped his only set of the tournament at 21:18, 12:21, and 21:12 — but showed absolute composure in the deciding set to celebrate a well-deserved tournament victory.
