A successful weekend for Heidi Bender at the 2026 Belgian Senior Open
While many of us are enjoying the summer holidays, some players from SG Unterrath Badminton are still busy competing on court. From 7 to 9 August 2026, Heidi Bender represented SG Unterrath at the Belgian Senior Open 2026, part of the BEC Senior Circuit, in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium.
And she certainly made the trip worthwhile.
In women’s doubles, Heidi reached an excellent second place in the younger senior age category, securing the silver medal. In mixed doubles, she went one step further and won the tournament, adding a gold medal to her weekend.
For those who may not know Heidi yet, she is an experienced German badminton player with a long history of competing successfully at national and international level, particularly in the senior categories. Her experience and competitive spirit were once again on display in Belgium.
Two disciplines, two podium finishes, and one tournament victory. Not a bad way to spend a summer weekend.
